"All the stories I'll ever need are right here on Main Street." Robert Cormier
While the transportation, stores, faces and activities may change, Main Street, itself, somehow looks the same! Take a look at Main Street through the years as depicted in the postcards.
Did you know that at one time Falmouth students and football enthusiasts prepared for the annual Thanksgiving Day game against Barnstable with a parade down Main Street, from the Village Green to the Recreation Center, for a pep rally, which included a bonfire and dance on the night before the game? According to the Enterprise, the tradition started in the late fifties.
Did you attend one of the pep rallies, or do you recall stories from long ago when residents rode their horses down Main Street as pictured above? Contact us!
