For many years the eagle hung high above the inside lobby of the library. After the 2008 renovation the eagle was moved to the Trustees Meeting Room and hangs above the antique bookcase that was part of the furnishings of the original library building.
George MacKinnon was a founding member of the Cape Cod Carvers. He and his wife, Edna, taught woodcarving for many years and ran a heather nursery in East Falmouth.
