The egg was won at the Nursing Fete (an annual fundraiser for the Falmouth Nurses Association) by Raymond and Mary Williams in August of 1984 and donated to the Falmouth Public Library by the Williams Family in 2014. the dome was provided by Claire Munroe of Falmouth. The Swan's Egg is also a music box that plays "American the Beautiful."
